Testimonials — See what students and parents are saying about Cecelia.

Taking violin lessons with Cecelia has been one of the paramount experiences of my life. I began lessons with her at the age of 4 and continued until age 18 when I went away to school. Being a violinist is a huge part of who I am today. I have never had a teacher so dedicated as Cecelia. She is a fantastic musician and is a wonderfully creative teacher with unsurpassed patience. She not only encouraged me to pursue my musical interests with her, but when I was ready to expand my abilities, to play with numerous orchestras and string ensembles. The amount of work that she puts into her students during lesson times, before recitals, and for extra rehearsals is astounding. I am so lucky to have had a teacher as great as she is and I would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone interested in music at any age. My weekly lessons at her house are a memory I will always cherish. I have come to love Cecelia not only my violin teacher, but my friend and mentor as well, and she will be for the rest of my life.

Our son Riley started taking violin lessons with Cecelia at age 4. He is 12 years old now, and owes so much of his music success to his years with Cecelia. She is a dedicated teacher who takes an individual approach to every student. Our son was always very eager to learn, and she helped him set and achieve goals in a very nurturing and patient way. She inspired Riley to reach musical goals he never dreamed of ! She unselfishly helped Riley obtain a full scholarship to the Young Musicians Program at U.C. Berkeley, even though it meant he could no longer take lessons with her. Now he is on his way to Carnegie Hall this summer to play his violin. Without the solid foundation and guidance that Cecelia provided for Riley, he may have lost interest in his passion for music before his potential could be realized. Cecelia is still a big part of Riley’s life, sharing all of the successes and struggles along this musical journey. We all love Cecelia very much and thank her sincerely for all she has taught our son and for the friendship and experience she shares with him.

I started taking violin lessons when I was 7 years old. When I moved to Benicia at age 12, I needed a new teacher and am so glad that I found Cecelia! Cecelia is a wonderful teacher who not only knows how to play the violin brilliantly, but teaches her students with the same passion and excellence. Throughout my years at Cecelia’s violin studio, my playing grew immensely. I played in a quartet called Rainbow Strings that was made up of Cecelia’s students. Each of us brought our own uniqueness to the group, but the same passion and technique taught to us by our teacher, Cecelia. Cecelia really understand her students and pushes us to strive for excellence in everything we do. I am graduated high school, I was so sad to leave her studio. However, I brought my violin to college with me and continue to play in my free time. Cecelia is not only a great inspiration to my playing, but a dear friend as well. I hope that anyone who wishes to learn the violin has a chance to take lessons from Cecelia!

If I had any other violin teacher in the whole world, I probably would have quit/been forced to quit by now :-)))…..thank you for always being there for me. I am a testament to your unending patience. You have instilled a life long passion into someone who has clearly been way too distracted from violin.I know that one day this passion will blossom. Thank you so much Cecelia. It has been an awesome 11 years.

It is what I would call a solid 4.5 star experience. In other words, I give it a 9 out of 10.
